From September 22 to September 25 the Baltic States will be visited by the Pope Francis.
The visit to Latvia is scheduled for September 24, the president’s website reports.
During the visit, Pope Francis will meet with the President Raimonds Vejonis, other top officials and members of society
He will also take part in the wreath laying ceremony at the Freedom Monument, and an ecumenical meeting at Riga Cathedral, where the Pope will make an address.
It is planned that the Pope will will also visit St John’s Church and have lunch with bishops. After that he is going to hold a mass in the Aglona Basilica.
His Holiness Pope Francis will be in the Baltics from September 22 to 25, during which he will also visit Lithuania and Estonia.
